Buffalo Bill Day

 

The Pikes Peak Council, Boy Scouts of America, with the

assistance of Camp Alexander and the Council Shooting Sports

Committee invite all registered Scouts age 11 and higher and

Scouters to join us for our annual Buffalo Bill Day.

CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF BSA

8-10 October 2010

On the Site of the 1960 National Scout Jamboree

Colorado Springs, CO

 PPC 2010 Centennial Camporee - Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Boy Scouts in America, Pikes Peak Council will sponsor the 2010 Centennial Scout Show at the Phil Long Expo Center and the 2010 Centennial Camporee just east of the Focus on the Family facility.  It was on this very site that, 50 years ago, Colorado Springs hosted the 1960 National Scout Jamboree celebrating the 50th Anniversary of BSA.  This year…Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of BSA with the Pikes Peak Council 2010 Centennial Camporee and Scout Show will be an exciting event you will not want to miss. There will be lots to do at the Centennial Camporee including: Patrol and small team Activities, Campsite Judging, Gateway Competition, Guinness World Records Event and an Arena Show with lots of surprises, to give Scouts an unforgettable 2010 Centennial Camporee.  The Camporee Schedule is also set up to accommodate, and encourage, Scouts and Scouters to visit and/or participate in the Scout Show and FREE shuttle busses will be provided for your convenience and safety.  SEE YOU AT THE CAMPOREE!!

Local wood-working enthusiast Tuck Aiken took 22 months to build his 17' "Redbird" canoe BY HAND.  It's a great story and an amazing accomplishment that he's willing to share with your Troop.  Check out his brief write-up (attached below) and the pictures, then contact him about visiting your Troop meeting to talk to your Scouts about how they can build one, too.

2010 Annual Religious Awards Retreat

For Scouts of ALL Faiths

 

Saturday Oct. 2, 2010

 

Check In:  8-9am        Retreat:  9am-3pm

 

Holy Apostles Catholic Church – 4925 Carefree Circle N, Colorado Springs, CO  80917

 

 

This retreat is for Scouting boys and girls in grades K-12 who wish to work on their Religious Awards.  A parent or guardian of K-3rd graders is

required to stay with your Scout.  Parents of older Scouts are welcome to stay but not required. 

 Please wear your Scout uniform.

 

 

$15 per Scout or adult participating in an adult course

$20 if registered after Sept. 29, 2010

 

 

Registration information and form can be found online.  Checks should be made payable to “Catholic Committee on Scouting”
